Setting up your device
1. Connect to a power source using the provided USB/AC adaptor.
2. To turn on your device, press and hold the Power button for several seconds. Your setup process begins. The first time you power on your tablet the “Welcome” screen appears and you will be asked to choose a language.
3. Select the language you want, and then touch Start to continue. Your tablet begins the activation process.
4. Setting up your Wi-Fi connection.
5. Touch the Wi-Fi network you want to use and enter the key or password.

All the other files and folders on the screen will also now have a checkmark in the upper right hand corner however they will remain grayed-out until specifically selected. At this time you can touch individual files and folders with the grayed-out checkmarks to select them.

6. Touch the Copy button in the action bar located at the top right corner of the screen.
7. Touch the SD Card icon from the device icons on the left of the screen to select the microSD card. Touching the SD Card icon displays the file/folder content on the microSD Card.

How to lock the screen?

  • Method 1: Press the power button to manually lock the screen.
  • Method 2: After being idle for a specified period of time, your phone automatically locks its screen.
  • To set the screen lock method, touch on the home screen. On the displayed Generaltab, touch Screen lock -> Screen lock.

Battery indicator

  • Deleting an application icon uninstalls the application. When you delete an application icon, your phone prompts you to confirm the action.
  • Touch OK to uninstall the application. Some pre-installed applications can’t be uninstalled.

1. On the home screen, touch Setting.
2. Under All, touch Security.
3. Touch Screen lock -> Pattern.
4. Connect at least four dots to draw a pattern, then draw the pattern again for confirmation.
5. Set a backup PIN as an alternative method to unlock yourphone should you forget your unlock pattern.

How to set a screen unlock using PIN?
1. On the home screen, touch Setting.
2. Under All, touch Security.
3. Touch Screen lock -> PIN.
4. Enter at least four digits, then enter them again for confirmation.

How to set a screen unlock using password?
1. On the home screen, touch setting.
2. Under All, touch Security.
3. Touch Screen lock -> Password.
4. Enter at least four characters and enter them once again for confirmation.

Importing contacts from a storage device
1. On the home screen, touch Contact icon.
2. Touch Menu Key -> Import/Export -> Import from storage.
3. Select one or more .vcf files, and touch OK.

Exporting contacts to a storage device
1. On the home screen, touch Contacts icon.
2. Touch Menu key -> Import/Export -> Export to storage.
3. Touch Export.
4. Choose from where you want to export the contacts and touch OK.
To view the .vcf file you just exported, open File Manager. By default, the file is saved to the root directory of your phone’s internal storage.

What should I do if I forgot my pattern lock?
Solution:
To unlock your device with a PIN code:
1. Tap Backup PIN (located at the bottom of the screen).
2. Scroll down and tap the Type PIN code field and use the on-screen keypad to enter the backup PIN code you setup when you created your lock pattern.
3. Tap Done.
4. If you have forgotten your current pattern, tap Pattern from the Screen unlock settings menu and follow the procedures outlined.

Follow the instruction below:
1. From the Home screen, tap Apps -> Settings -> Finger Scanner.
2. If you did not register your fingerprints when you first set up your device, tap Fingerprint manager.
3. Read the onscreen Disclaimer at tap OK to begin the set up process.
4. Swipe the tip of the selected finger or thumb completely over the finger print reader (Home) from the first knuckle to the tip. An onscreen animation describes the process.
5. Continue to swipe your finger until the progress indicator shows completed.
6. Enter a password to use as an alternative in case your fingerprint is not read correctly.
7. Confirm the password and tap OK.
8. Your fingerprint is now registered, tap the Backkey to return to the fingerprint screen.
9. The following options are available:
- Fingerprint manager: Allows you to manage your currently registered fingerprints, add new fingerprints, or deregister (delete) existing fingerprints.
- Change alternative password: Allows you to change the password assigned to currently registered fingerprints.
- Screen lock: Allows you to assign the current screen lock method. If you have registered a fingerprint, select Fingerprints as the lock method.
- Verify Samsung account: Allows you to use your fingerprint instead of your password when signing onto your Samsung account. Follow the onscreen instructions
- Pay with PayPal: Allows you to use your linked PayPal© service’s fingerprint recognition to quickly make online payments. Follow the onscreen instructions to install the required FIDO protocol and link your PayPal account.
10. Once you access the feature using your fingerprint, tap Menu -> Help for additional information.

1. From the Home screen, tap -> Apps -> Contacts.

1. From the Home screen, tap -> Apps -> Contacts.
